In the fall of 1983, B.J.Buntrock, recently divorced, found herself on the horns of a dilemma:

Either she had to find herself an "occupation," or face the possibility of spending the rest of
her life attending Women's Luncheons of one sort or another. She had no desire to sell insurance,
and all her friends were already selling real estate, so only one direction really appealed to her.

Flowers and "found objects" were her interests, and Flowers and Found Objects was her
salvation. The front half of The Broward Fruit Company on Las Olas was available, so she
rented and remodeled it, and "hung out the shingle."

Eventually, the Fruit Company went out of business, so in a
transaction which took place on the steps of the Brevard County courthouse, B.J. bought the building, and the shop began to expand (as did it's clientele and reputation.)

Las Olas was a sleepy little shopping district in those days;
in the Summer, you could roll a bowling ball down the street and not hit anything.

Over the years, as this area evolved into the shopping/business/dining/entertainment Mecca it is today, we've grown apace with it and are proud as ever to be part of it. Our regular customers
frequently comment on the wonderful atmosphere of our shop, and many enjoy returning time
after time.
